I had the pleasure of speaking at the 3rd annual DPharm Europe: Disruptive Innovations to Advance Clinical Trials event last week in London. While not all innovation is disruptive, we can and should continue to drive down the cost of drug development and provide better access to clinical trials through technology, while greatly enhancing the patient experience. That indeed was the goal of this conference, providing case studies and examples of how to dramatically improve the patient experience in the clinical trial process.
I presented the topic "Building an Ecosystem of Patient Communication Beyond Trial Participation" showing how Be the Partner stops the patient's disappearing act and turns patients into real partners for the pharmaceutical industry. Our objective is to develop a global patient community and establishing long term connectivity between the sponsors and the patients regardless of whether they complete the trial or not. My next speaking engagement is at the 4th annual Patients as Partners program taking place March 2-3, 2017 in Philadelphia. I hope I get the chance to meet many of our clinical trial heroes at this conference.
